The Tajik authorities did not introduce quarantine measures in the country; the exception was the establishment of education (kindergartens, schools and universities) and some service institutions. The presence of an epidemic in the country was recognized by the authorities on April 30, 2020, when data appeared on the first infected, and data on the first dead appeared on May 3, 2020.
As in many other countries, a COVID application has been developed in Tajikistan. Based on its functionality, it can be concluded that it only allows you to self-evaluate your condition and at the same time increase awareness of COVID-19 prevention measures.
Citizens of the country developed the kvjt.info website, which allowed users to report the fact of death from COVID-19 by filling out the form. The site was blocked on May 11, and on May 15, 2020, the Ministry of Health of Tajikistan launched a single national portal for coronavirus covid.tj.
On June 10, 2020, the Tajik parliament adopted a bill on penalties for violating epidemiological rules and publishing inaccurate information about coronavirus in the media and social networks.
Since the end of June 2021, entrance to the mosques of the city of Dushanbe was allowed only if there is a vaccination document or with a negative PCR test, and on July 3, 2021, the authorities announced mandatory vaccination for all citizens of the country over 18 years old.
As of October 10, 1.9 million citizens were fully vaccinated.
